FIXAR named finalist by the Edison Awards
FIXAR has been announced as one of the selected group of finalists by the Edison Awards in the category of Aerospace and Robotics for its flagship VTOL outdoor UAV – FIXAR 007 with Autopilot and xGroundControl software.
The FIXAR 007 is a fully autonomous vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drone designed for commercial and industrial applications, such as mapping, thermal and laser inspections, aerial imaging, remote sensing, surveillance and monitoring.

FIXAR 007 has proven its superior properties at high altitudes and challenging conditions, 4,500 m above sea level at Mount Elbrus, and has outperformed other same class UAV’s of the same class by executing missions with up to 5x higher efficiency.
The remarkable performance is driven by the innovative aspects that are underlined in the combination of the UAV’s robust construction, intuitive software and proprietary Autopilot system, bringing altogether a more versatile and reliable solution that can be customized based on the needs of the user by simply swapping the payload.
The UAV flight missions are planned and executed with closed source xGroundControl software; the Autopilot executes autonomous missions guiding the UAV. Since Autumn 2021, every FIXAR outdoor UAV has a BlackBox module, which is an extended feature that allows the system to record complete and detailed information of onboard flight activities and parameters and serves also as a data backup system.
The Edison Awards winners will be announced at the 2022 Edison Awards Gala in Fort Myers, Florida on April 21, 2022.
